We have a new release of GroupSwim on tap for everyone!
Our focus was a big upgrade to our semantic tagging
capabilities. What does that mean? We made tag
suggestions a lot smarter. You will see much better tag results
with email-in, posting, search, and browsing tags by
topic. In addition, we exposed a way for community owners
and managers to train the tagging engine. This allows you to guide the
suggested tags based on the unique terminology your community might
utilize. Using the tag-training feature, you can significantly
enhance the value of your community and the knowledge it develops.

noticed a few changes here and there - like crossed out
discussions disappearing for good (we got the message). While
our primary focus was tuning and maintenance, we did slip a few extras
in for good measure. See below for an overview of

A few updates to GroupSwim this week!
in Announcements & News , by Sherwood B August 16 2007. Tagged new-features groupswim
Keeping with our weekly update schedule you may have noticed a few updates to GroupSwim. As usual we made a few more performance enhancements and fixed several lurking bugs. In addition to the basics, we did the following:
- Sign-in/Sign-out: We extended the length of time you can remain signed-in to 2 weeks. This should help reduce some of the sign-in issues we have been hearing about.
- Adding URL's to a post. We made it a lot easier to insert URL's into your post with a new tool-bar button for inserting and removing URL's. Give it a try, its on every post form.

We have been very busy and just rolled out a new release of GroupSwim.
Some cool new features to check out:
- New email settings. You can now receive an email notification for every post and every reply. To setup: click on your name, select your Account settings, and select email settings. Please note: this setting is specific to each group site.
- Tag clouds: We totally tuned up the algorithms behind our tag clouds. They should be much cleaner with a lot less redundant tags. Try them out and let us know what you think.
