Hello,

Currently "featured" groups is a mechanism for promoting groups to a users that the users are currently not members of. The function selects groups that the user can not currently read and creates a "possibly featured" list. This list is personalized to the specific users permissions. The function then takes the four most recently created groups, and this becomes the set of featured groups presented to the user. So, currently this is a quite simplistic algorithm.

Currently there is no way to explicitly "feature" or "unfeature" a group. But that is probably a nice feature we should consider in upcoming releases. Currently, when the user becomes member of a group the group obviously disappears from the list. When there are more recently created groups that qualifies for the list the older groups will drop off.

Hope this explained it.

Regards

Jari
