Is there a way to create a "sticky" discussion that will always remain visible up top?

That would be awesome! For example, I posted a schedule of meetings in my Announcements group which would be cool if it could stay up top.

Presently, we do not support stickies. It's something we are considering on our roadmap.

One useful technique to achieve the same effect is to use the Announcement feature, and put links to the discussions you wish to highlight. To do this:

  1. Go to the Group settings page (on the right side of the tab row when you're in the group)
  2. Click on Announcement. (Once there click the radio button "Show an announcement...")
  3. Enter the text of the announcement, including links to the discussions you want to call out. (The announcement form accepts HTML, and the HTML for a link looks like:
       <a href="http://yourlinkhere">text that you want linked</a>

Each discussion has its own unique link. For example, this discussion's URL is http://pool.groupswim.com/groups/qa/discussion/843814?id=S843814
  4. (click Save Changes)

The announcement will appear on the landing page of your group. You can also do an announcement for the whole site (just access "Site settings" instead), which appears on the homepage.

One advantage of using the announcement in this way is that you can explain to your community why they should look these posts (and any context around them), rather than simply affixing to the top of the list.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using GroupSwim!
