A new GroupSwim release has been served over Labor Day Holiday!   We have added a whole slew of new features to make it easier to administer and use your GroupSwim Group site.   See below for a overview of the latest release of GroupSwim.

- Enjoy,  Mike and the GroupSwim team

New features for Group site Owners and Managers

  • Single sign-on:  have another website or internal system you would like to interface with GroupSwim?   We now have a slick single sign-on capability.  To request an API key,  email us.
  • SSL support available:  If you want SSL turned on for your Group site, please email us.
  • Permissions: We have added a new “custom” permissions control.   You can now tune your group site and subgroup access permissions in about any way you would like.   Want your group to be public but read only?  No problem.   Want a private group that is invite only, but anyone can read your discussions?  No problem.
  • Auto-join subgroups:  We added a new group type called “Auto-join”.  If you specify an Auto-join group everyone in you group site is automatically joined.  No invite required.
  • Email blast:  Group site owners, managers and subgroup managers can choose to “notify-all” via email on any post.  This capability overrides your members email settings.
  • Member lists can now be downloaded to a CSV by managers and owners

New features for GroupSwim users

  • RSS:  We added RSS capabilities to your home page, all your subgroups and your watchlist.  This is a great way to stay current and reduce the number of email alerts you receive.
  • Rich Media Support:  You can now embedded videos!   This feature can be accessed on the post form tool bar.    Just cut and paste the embedded link from your favorite video site to share with your groups.

As usual we fixed a few bugs

  • Cleaned up the extra “garbage” in the login boxes to make it easier to find your last login information.
  • Updated the aging of new discussions on the home page to show more content
  • Added new emoticons options to the post form
