Keeping with our weekly update schedule you may have noticed a few updates to GroupSwim.   As usual we made a few more performance enhancements and fixed several lurking bugs.  In addition to the basics, we did the following:

  1. Sign-in/Sign-out:  We extended the length of time you can remain signed-in to 2 weeks.  This should help reduce some of the sign-in issues we have been hearing about.
  2. Adding URL's to a post.  We made it a lot easier to insert URL's into your post with a new tool-bar button for inserting and removing URL's.   Give it a try, its on every post form.
  3. Email alerts:  We added actions to the side-bar of all group discussion list to make it very easy to turn email alerts on and off.   We also added the on/off controls to your subgroups list.  You can get to this list using the subgroup drop-down, and selecting "your subgroups".
  4. Cleaned up all the email alerts to make it easier to determine the type of email being sent (discussion, reply, watchlist).
  5. Daily digests have been updated to show the author name on all posts and replies.
  6. We tweaked search to show related tags in the side-bar -vs- the word you searched on.  This produces a much better search result.
What's next???   We have some great new features coming soon.  These include: RSS, Single sign-on, a new permissions model for subgroups, the ability to download membership data.   And of course a few other unannounced features.  Expect to see all of this in about 2 weeks.
